Plants are used as natural intermediaries between the visible and invisible worlds. All plants possess a vital energy that is influenced by the soil, water, earth, sun, and lunar cycles... In animistic traditions, each plant possesses a spirit with which it is possible to connect. Protection comes not only from the plant matter itself, but also from this conscious connection.
